Hair transplantation: what you should know
Are you planning to have your hair transplanted? If you answered yes, then this guide is written to you. In this guide, we've clarified some of the key issues that require clear answers so you understand exactly what you expect from this transplant.
Explanation of hair transplantation
This operation is a minimally invasive process for outpatients that allows the patient to recover lost hair from the new
follicles transplanted in the head. This treatment involves a procedure where the hair follicles are removed from one side of your head (or other part of your body) known as a donor site and transplanted to the bald or recipient site.
Who can choose a hair transplant
Any man or woman who is experiencing baldness, trauma, hair loss, head trauma or male baldness can choose this surgery and have permanent hair again. Men suffering from men's baldness, men or women who lost their hair due to fire accidents. Men are aware that drugs and drugs do not help them restore their hair.
Hårtransplantationsprocedurer
Hair transplantation occurs in two ways. One is follicular unit extraction or FUE, and the other is follicular unitary transplant or FUT. Below is a map:
Extraction of follicular units: The extraction of follicular units or FUE is the most popular transplant procedure for the two operations. The reason for this is that it is less invasive and the downtime is almost minimal. In FUE, the surgeon manually collects each hair follicle from the donor area to the required area. This process is also known as grafting. If done correctly, a natural and uniform appearance is achieved.
Follicular Unit Transplant: Follicular Unit Transplantation or FUT is the process by which the surgeon removes a strip of skin with hair follicles attached from the donor area to the recipient's area. The skin is divided into small pieces of grafts and one by one is implanted in the recipient's area.
Explanation of the graft
A graft is the removal of a strip of skin from the donor area, which is surgically removed without touching the blood supply. Once implanted in the recipient's area, the skin develops a new blood supply.
However, although this is verified by the procedure, it takes approx. 4 to 8 hours for surgery.
Expected results
Right after the second or third week, the transplanted hair tends to fall. This stage is known as 'shock loss' and is quite normal. Sometimes patients experience hair loss in areas they did not touch the surgery.
By the sixth or eighth week approx. 85% to 95% of the hair grows with the thickening of the hair after each growth cycle. The growth period is approximately every 6 weeks depending on the patient's state of health. In the sixth month you can see the result, and in the 12th month you can see the full final result of your treatment. At this point you will have the greatest glory to boast of.
Risk of transplant treatment
While hair transplantation is the most invasive and least invasive medical procedure involving risks, like some other surgeries, there are risks associated with hair transplantation such as scarring, skin redness or not the expected outcome. There are chances of losing the transplanted hair known as "shock loss", which is common in patient recovery.
